If you have your own design and want it professionally printed on stunning foil, you’re in the right place!
Recommended only for Those Familiar with Digital Design
- Choose your foil style.
(The main image is displayed on Cracked Ice Silver foil.) - Upload the three required files so we can create your card.
The step-by-step process is illustrated in the product gallery photos, but we’ll also explain it here.
Important Note: Due to the complexities of the manufacturing process, we have determined that the best way to ensure the highest-quality final product is to limit orders to this bordered format, rather than offering borderless cards.
What We Need From You:
To create your custom foil card, you’ll need to prepare and submit three files.
File #1 (The Front Artwork File)
This file should be 2.3″ x 3.3″ and will be printed in the center of your final 2.5″ x 3.5″ card. It should have a high resolution of up to 1200 pixels per inch. Please note while creating your artwork that The darker the colors on the card the less the foil will shine through. For example any dark black areas of your design will barely allow foil to shine through it no matter what the ‘foil direction file’ instructions are for that area.
File #2 (The Foil Direction File)
This essential file informs us and the printer where you want the foil to shine through your front artwork image. It should have the exact same dimensions as your front artwork file. This file should contain only two colors: dark black and white.
- Dark black areas indicate where you do not want foil to shine through your front artwork.
- White areas indicate where you do want foil to shine through the colored ink of your design.
We highly recommend that any important words or images on the front of your design be represented in black in this file. This ensures readability and helps your card stand out, especially when using intricate foil patterns like cracked ice.
File #3 (The Back Artwork File)
This file needs to be slightly larger than the standard card size due to the challenge of perfectly aligning the front and back. To accommodate this, your design must include a “bleed area”—a margin around the edges in case of slight misalignment.
- This file should be 2.75″ x 3.75″.
- All important images or text should be contained within the 2.3″ x 3.3″ center.
- The 2.5″ x 3.5″ area represents the final desired back of the card.
